Feilding Kindy Visit

What a great day! Feilding Kindergarten came to visit Room 7. We listened to the Letter J song, sang a waiata, read books to them, showed them how to use the computer and we did the brontosauraus boogie. To end the visit we all played on the playground. Thank you for visiting us. We had a wonderful time.

Naughty Butterflies

On Friday Room 7 noticed that there were a lot of white butterflies flying around our vegetable garden eating our plants. So we wanted to know:

How do you stop the butterflies from eating our plants?

We had a think about who would be able to answer this for us. We went to see Mrs Simpson because she is an expert in gardening. She told us that we should get the green team to help us put some netting over the top of our plants. What a great idea! Thank you Mrs Simpson.

Buddy Class

On Friday we had our first buddy class session with Rooms 1 and 4. Our first activity was a photo hunt. We had to work in groups to find all the photos and words. We really enjoyed working with our big buddies. The words were about the things that we need to be healthy. I wonder if you can remember some of the words?
I wonder what we are going to do next week?

Ornie the Pig

This is a very funny movie about a pig who never gave up.

Our Class Garden

Today Mrs Simpson, Jayden and Jahden helped us to plant our class garden. They broke up tiles to put on the bottom of the tub. Then they poured in a bag of soil and a bag of potting mix. We helped to push the dirt down and make it smooth and flat. Mrs Simpson planted a swan plant, some lettuces, spinach and some broccoli. We need to water it each day so the plants grow. Thank you Mrs Simpson, Jayden and Jahden for helping us plant our garden.

Swimming

It is great that we have had two fine days for swimming so far. The children are very good at remembering their togs and towel each day. The children really enjoy swimming and are very clever in the water.
The children enjoy picking up rings off the bottom of the pool, having running races and playing games in the water.

We are learning to blow bubbles - bath time is a great time to practice this skill.
