The Olympic Games
Room 7 is learning about the Olympic Games. We have learnt about the history of the games, the meaning of the Olympic rings and about the different medals that the athletes can win. We are looking forward to supporting the New Zealand athletes throughout the games and we will be making a graph to show all of the medals that we win. Go New Zealand!
If you have been watching the Olympics at home please fill out the Wall Wisher below:

Boys High Band
On Thursday the Palmerston North Boys High band visited our school. They had lots of different instruments. We enjoyed seeing all the instruments and hearing the different sounds they all made. We learnt about the bagpipes. We had never seen this instrument before. We thought they were very loud and looked hard to play.We enjoyed listening to the music.Thank you very much for sharing your music with us.

Hail Day
Holy moly! This afternoon it hailed at school. The hail rumbled on our roof. We looked out the window and we saw a blanket of white hail. We were very amazed.
We walked out onto the veranda and guess there was lots of white soft ice. We picked it up and it felt very cold and slippery. Brrrr! It has been a freezing day.

Endangered Animals
We have been learning about endangered animals in New Zealand. We have learnt about the Kiwi and the Yellow Eyed Penguin and who their predators are.
We asked ourselves these questions - How can we help them? What are we going to do?
We brainstormed some ideas and decided that we would make a poster.
On Thursday some Room 6 children helped us to use comic life to make a poster. Here are some photos of our afternoon with Room 6. Thank you for your help!

Music
Room 7 is very lucky to have Mrs Smith some afternoons. We go to the hall and do some music. We have been learning to keep in time to the beat. We play lots of different intruments like a drum, shakers, tambourines and bells. We also march, walk and run to different music.
Thank you Mrs Smith for helping us with our music. We all have lots of fun and like learning new things about music.
